Terms of use

These terms cover the website, downloads and API. They are short on purpose.

Last updated 2 November 2026. These terms are a draft and will be reviewed before launch.

The figures

Every figure comes from the source named beside it and keeps that source's licence. Many sources, such as the World Bank, allow reuse with credit. Some do not allow commercial use without permission. Check the licence on the sources page before reusing figures, and always credit the original publisher. Our citation text on each indicator page does this for you.

We work to publish figures exactly as their sources released them, and we correct mistakes openly on the corrections page. The figures are still provided as they are, without a guarantee that they are complete or free of error, and decisions you make with them are your own.

Our own work

The website's design, text, charts and code are DataNigeria's. You may link to any page, share screenshots of charts with credit, and quote short passages. Embedding our charts will be offered with its own embed code.

The API

Elections

DataNigeria is non-partisan. Election information is reported as published by the Independent National Electoral Commission. Do not use our name or material to suggest that we support a party or candidate.
